I’m Lisa—a food photographer, recipe developer, and slow-living storyteller rooted in old-world tradition.
In my world, food is never just food.

It’s how we connect, how we celebrate, how we slow down and savor life’s simplest, richest moments.

It’s the homemade gnocchi on birthdays, the fresh basil from the garden, the laughter and stories passed around the table.

For the joy of gathering. For the stories we share around the table.

For the love of food.

I grew up in a large, loud Italian family where every moment worth remembering happened over food. Homemade gnocchi on my birthdays. Fresh tomato sauce simmering on the stove. Crowded tables, flour-stained aprons, and stories shared between bites. It wasn’t fancy—but it was full of laughter, flavor, and love.

I spent a decade living in Italy. From the vibrant heart of Rome to the little mountain village connecting with family and friends and getting back to my roots. I learned from women who never used recipe cards but knew everything from instinct, heart, and tradition.
To me–food was never just food—it was family, heritage, connection. And it still is.

And that’s what I want to bring to your table.

If I had to pinpoint where this all started, it would be around the kitchen table.

After a pretty serious health scare, I took my health into my own hands which included homemaking just about everything - including milling my own flour.

I’ve never met a homemade sweet I didn’t like

I’m barefoot most of the time—and my kitchen smells like bread or basil

I grow peaches, nectarines, citrus, and even celery in my backyard garden

My birthday meal has been homemade gnocchi since I was 14 (yes, every year!)

A look back on the past twenty-five years

For 10 unforgettable years, I lived in the heart of the Italian countryside, where the rhythm of life followed the seasons and every meal was a celebration. Nestled in a small mountain village, I embraced the farm-to-table Italian lifestyle—harvesting garden herbs, simmering rustic sauces, and learning the art of slow, soulful cooking. This chapter of my life rooted me in the traditions of homemade Italian food, where every recipe starts with love and ends with a shared table.

2000-2010

Earning my Holistic Nutrition Educator certification was a turning point in how I approached food, health, and healing. I dove deep into the connection between nourishment and well-being—learning how whole foods, mindful eating, and seasonal ingredients can support vibrant living. It gave me the language to express what I already felt in my bones: that food is medicine, and that a well-fed life is a deeply rooted one.

2012

It all began in the backyard with a humble patch of soil and a big dream. In 2013, I planted my first garden, not knowing it would change my life. From tomatoes to zucchini, I learned how to grow with the seasons, connect with the earth, and bring fresh, organic produce straight to my kitchen.

In 2018, I was gifted my first digital camera and never looked back. That first food photo sparked a new kind of storytelling—one where light, texture, and emotion came together to celebrate the beauty of homemade meals. It was the start of my journey into editorial food photography.

2018

In 2024, My Weathered Table officially bloomed. A culmination of everything I’ve planted, photographed, and poured my soul into, this brand brings together farm-to-table recipes, seasonal storytelling, garden wisdom, and moody food photography—all rooted in slow living and old-world charm.

quite the journey!

By 2014, I found myself creating recipes from scratch—rooted in my garden, guided by flavor, and driven by a deep desire to share real food with heart. Every dish was an experiment in love and seasonal simplicity, laying the groundwork for everything I do today.
